It's not technically "ancient", but it is from India. It's a copper paisa from one of the Indian "princely states", dating from sometime between 1700 and 1900. I can't tell which state, or narrow down the date more precisely; I can't read anything clearly on it except what appears to be the number "17", or maybe "107", in Indo-Arabic numerals; that might be a regnal year, or part of a longer number representing the date. I'll try to look up the catalogues to see if it matches anything when I get home later.

I tried to narrow it down, but there are too many that "kind of" match and not enough that "closely match", that I could see.

Sorry about that.
