My bank has a coin counter too. But I have reused the plastic wrappers. Just gently stretch one end and thumb the coins out.

I used to reroll them. I found a couple of places where I could buy wrappers for around $6 per 1000. Recently I found out that my local branches of BofA don't require that they be rolled. I put $25 into a free checking account. They've even been kind enough to give me the heavy duty plastic bags to put the coins in. I've been returning them for over a month, and they haven't shortchanged me yet.

Yesterday was the first time I encounter these type of rolls too. I discovered that using a finger to widen an end helped, then try to just push one side to make the coins want to go diagonal and out of the roll. It allows for re-use of the heat shrunk plastic

I tear the plastic and free the coins so the can take a breath! after searching I reroll sometimes (get free paper wrappers at my bank) but my grocery store now has a free coin counter machine that gives me a credit stub to cash in at the countertop.

I take my unrolled coins to the casino. they have free coin counting machines at the cashiers cages. you do have to have the coins seperated, pennies, dimes, nickels, so on. cant have pennys and dimes in the same jar. but they return them without question. Coin stars will count coins for free if you choose a gift card option. I usually reroll everything except the pennys tho. I take the pennies to the casino.

I have heard if you can unplug the network cable like the one found on your computer that goes from your router you can somehow bypass it giving you a gift card. With not network connectivity it thinks there is a problem and will give you a voucher for full amount. I have never tried this but coin star is a rip off so thats out of the question.

I am just reusing the heatshrink plastic casings.

I tear open one end and then slide the coins out at an angle and throw out the plastic. Coinstar stock should go up simply based on my use of the machines for my garbage pennies.... Sincerely, John Leckrone
