Reverse is normal.

Not special, just thought I would throw it up since I was photographing it anyway.

While I'm far from an expert on errors and varieties, I believe MAD stands for Mis-Aligned Die. The full name pretty much says it all. The obverse was not perfectly centered above the reverse die when striking, thus causing an offset obverse while the reverse would retain it's normal appearance.

Keepers when the devices flow over the rim area. Yours is close but not there yet.

Richard, the shift on this coin, unfortunately, is not toward the motto but instead toward the date. Don't you think that this much shift would have hit the devises if any other direction? Just seems like this shift appears the same on the side opposite the lose of rim position. Thanks for your thoughts.

If it had been in the opposite direction like the coin above, it would have had the devices fall over the rim. I would still keep it though. Nice education piece to show to new ones.

Very nice!

Here is a pic of one of my favorite misaligned dies, on a flying eagle from 1858. It's nice to see the mint is still making the same mistakes.
