I was looking through my coins and found an interesting medallion. It is a Napoleonic medal dated 1813. I can't put up a photo right now but it can be seen on the net under Bramson 1259. This medal is in excellent condition, in brass with a good finish. However, somebody has drilled a hole through the top of it, probably back in the day to wear around the neck. Historic value aside does this action completely devalue such an item. I'm guessing it does but will be interested in your opinion. davep.

The reason I suspect youre not getting responses is because you must have pics or at the very least post a link where the pic is....I searched for Bramson 1259 and it took me quite a while to find it....but find it I did....http://www.napoleonicmedals.org/coins/br-1259.htm

Oh and yes a holed medal is much less valuable than one that is not!
