This may not be directly coin related, but it is however money related. Does anyone here still make routine purchases with paper money? I got to thinking the other day, that probably over 90% of my purchases are made by credit card. Paying off the balance in full each month cost me nothing in interest and the card is simply more convenient to carry than cash. Anyone else in a similar pattern?

I used to do that but it got to be pain going through all the receipts and making sure I wasn't being charged double for something or charged for someting I never bought. Now I just keep enough cash on hand to buy what I need. Besides I'm not interested in promoting a cash-less society or helping banks get rich on ATM fees.

Since the banks promote credit cards with all the promotions and stuff, I use the credit card if it gets me pay less then with cash, otherwise I do use money.

the only thing I have that resembles a credit card is my banks debit card and a paypal debit card so both is just like using cash but if its between card or cash I have to say I use cash more

I'm a fulltime RVer, so use credit cards for 99.9% of my purchases or payments as a matter of expediency. They're a lot more convenient in any instance since I find it difficult to verify how I spent my cash. Nevertheless, I carry $5 to $50 in cash for those exigencies where and when credit cards are not accepted or for itty bitty purchases (a bottle of Coke or MacDonalds). Curiously, since my bank is over 3000 miles away, I get my cash from ebay buyers (mostly kids) who (against ebay policy) send cash instead of using PayPal; I also accumulate cash from VA travel vouchers.

My online purchases are always made by Money Order,I have not used pay pal or credit card for coin purchases for more than 2 years,, So I guess I'm a cash person.

I still use cash, but I'd say it's about a 50-50 split as well. Mike

Credit cards - rarely. Debit (same as cash) often. Coin and Currency - occasionally.

I use my debit card about 75% of the time. I don't have a credit card.

In my case the fee policies of the local banks here in Oz, of charging small fees per transaction, has pushed be back towards a "cash economy". I only use the cards (debit and credit) for major purchases.

I only use cash and occassionally debit, I doubt I could pass the requirements to get a credit card. Probably a good thing too.

I almost alway use my debt card or a check. I don't use credit card got myself in a little truble with them in the past. the main coin shop I go to doesn't take credit cards only cash or checks. So when I go there I usally get the cash I need on payday. Also if I carry cash with me I spend it to fast on thing I don't need. like fastfood. So I mainly use debit cards

Speaking of electric Guitar, I just sold a 1962 Gibson Les-Paul SG for $16,000.00 , its actually a 20k dollar guitar but was kind of in a bind so sold it quick. The dealers I sold it to couldn't get the money together fast enough to get the thing. it was quite comical to watch really
