Stay away from coins that have been "underwater". You can't see well in murky water and the problems tend to be hidden until the post office delivers them.

I have bought some NNC coins for a good price but I consider it a gamble even when it is a nice looking coin. Not for grade because if you can't grade the series you have no reason to even take a chance on these coins but for specific varieties and a coin you can grade yourself then the risk becomes less. Even with nice looking coins and a specific variety is still some what of a risk because the foam insert they use can hide rim problems and you will never see them even when you receive the coin until it is cracked out. Now if you got it for a good price and its still a nice variety a small rim bump may not be to bad, but if you paid market value for a coin graded MS-65 and its a MS-63 coin and its a nice variety with a rim bump then its not a good deal anymore

mmmm, try and break them out. It is EASY !! try and twist the slab in itself.....carefully. Then insert a sharp solid knife in to the joint and give it a careful little twist..... voila.... it is open. closes very easy.... I found out because I was playing with one of them.. just for fun twisted it a bit......and the rest is history... that was a couple of years ago... maybe they changed it now.

Just as an FYI--the main distributor of coins in NNC holders is the owner of NNC. Centsles = NNC, publicly available knowledge. As far as the markings on their holders, I consider the "grade" almost arbitrary and will not track to PCGS/NGC/ICCS/DGS etc. (IMO)

Quote: just try and get a coin graded by them....IMPOSSIBLE....check their web site... OK, I checked their website. What's the problem? Instructions seem clear, straight forward, and reasonable. The only impossible I see is if you are shipping your coins from Singapore because they aren't accepting shipments from there due to excessive counterfeits.

Pursuant to their website: "PLEASE NOTE: We apologize for any inconvenience. But, due to computer problems which caused a loss of some of our data, NNC will be unable to verify coins that were processed between December 15, 2006 through February 13, 2007. The information we will not be able to provide includes date, mint mark, denomination and grade. However, we can provide information regarding who originally submitted your coin for grading and the date it was graded."
1. In my opinion, I wouldn't want to do business with a company who, in this late day in age, wouldn't seem to have the business sense & foresight to have had adequate and confirmable workflow and/or backoffice data systems [necessary for the pursuit of ongoing slab verification.]
2. In my opinion, the data-loss timeframe seems like a perfect 'loophole' for counterfeiters.

Ah the great NNC ....I questioned them about the overgrades and asked if they guarantied their grades...
I got the best responce ever >>>>>>>>>>>>NONE I tried a different question about slabbing some of mine ( which I would never do ) and got the same answer NONE
So YOU decide.....

Artido, YOU are dead on.... they will NOT reply.. just see how old their info is on the web site... Condor 101i think it is interesting they only say Singapore.... why not CHINA? because they buy some coins there.....? has anyone ever received an answer to a question on their ebay site? the web site is a con job, to appear legit... which they are...! WHY?because there is absolutely NO legal parameters to grade coins. Not in the USA, and NOT in Canada or anywhere else!! NOTE: every TPG will say something like this: in our opinion..... NOT in our professional opinion. this could and would raise a liability issue........

Quote: i think it is interesting they only say Singapore.... why not CHINA? Because China makes the counterfeits, but for awhile there werescammers actively shipping fakes directly to the grading services out of Singapore trying to get them into holders. This was before the fake slabs started appearing.
