1940 Jefferson Silver Nickel? - Coin Community Forum

AMFCook Valued Member United States 312 Posts	Posted 02/12/2010 7:08 pm I was under the impression that silver wasn't used in Jefferson nickels until 1942, and that up until 42 actual nickel was used in producing Jefferons, and from 42 - 45 silver replaced the nickel and manganese was introduced to the composition. Can someone shed some light on this for me?
