d23- It is rather hard to tell from the pics, but the color and detail from the strike are not the best in that they are reminiscent of a lot fake Chinese coins I have seen.

Archraz.., these are the auction pictures..

One point that would concern me is: The top maltese jewel in the crown appears to just touch an imaginary line joining the bottom of E and I in DEI..

In the 1875H coin this jewel is just under that line...

I haven't studied the fakes nearly as much as some have, but on the Victorian 25c stuff I've seen in hand, you can just "feel" something is not right - the design, the proportions, etc. The coin pictured here does not strike me as being questionable the way those coins were, and my first impression would be that it's legit.

According to the new Charlton Catalogue, the portrait details on the 1875H, the lip and chin details don't look the same as this coin.

The top Jewel, as mentioned does not even come close to the "E" in DEI, this one seems to be touching.

Just my opinion... but, I think it's fake.

This coin is questionable? Take a close look at the "C" on the reverse :CENTS.
This does not appear to be a authentic piece!

The leaf at 4:00 appears to touch the denticles on yours but not the heritage one but what do I know, I bought a 1921 50c fake for almost $300! (did get my money back though).

Thanks guys... I will not be placing any bids on these...

This and the others just looked suspect to me...

How does that saying go.. "Stick to your first impressions"
