Those are some great finds! I've seen plenty of pre-1925 SLQ's in, top-3 TPG slabs, with very weak dates, all the way up to the Extremely Fine range. Here is an 1923-S graded F15 by PCGS; wish it was mine. I believe your 1920-D is F12. This one lives in a PCGS XF40 holder:

I purchased another lot of 40 for $108(actually under melt), and made some other intering finds. Primarily a damaged, beat to heck 27-s! LOL....ok, so it's not worth much in this condition(maybe $8 or so), but it is still a key date! Now I have 2 out of 4 SLQ keys that I've obtained purely from junk! I also received to dateless 17-ds, a 1920-s and a 1923, both are barely distinguishable, but I'm always excited when I get anything pre-25 that I can identify. I'm hooked on these SLQ junk buys! The 1921 was by far the best find so far.

Wow, amazing finds. Great deal too, even if you didn't get all those keys. Steve199, I unfortunately have have to disagree. Either PCGS overgraded the first 23-S, or they were lenient due to the coin's rarity. Still a nice coin though, it might be a while until I get a 23-S. It is a solid F-12, and Johnny's 20-D is a G-06. Here is my 1921 PCGS G-06, shot at different angles:

Nice 21 wheatguy! Yours is certainly stronger than mine. I've been looking at a few 23-s and 21 TPG graded coins, and I think they are terribly inconsistent with the grading in this series. Sometimes they take into account the weak date and ding the grade, and other times they don't.

Here's the reverse of the 1923-S PCGS graded F15 coin I posted: Here is a 1921, graded G6 by PCGS. The biggest difference is seen on the reverse:

Wheatguy, thanks for posting that. I think your could easily be a VG8. And perhaps the '23S is overgraded. ANA guidelines say the date is clear on both VG8 and F12. But, in practice, the TGP's often grade otherwise. Interesting...

Yes, mine wouldn't surprise me as a VG-8, but I accept it as a very solid G-6. It really is close to VG-8 though. I agree with Johnny, TPG's are very inconsistent with grading these.

Here is the reverse of the 20-D I posted earlier. Unfortunately, it has some scratches, as you can also see on the obverse.

Yeah, my 27-s is also damaged as you can see. I believe the "21" is problem free though.
