see how in this image on the letters it looks like doubling on both sides of the same letter, that is classic for Machine Doubling. A double die would be on one side or another but not both sides of the shafts and curves of the letters
So thats what this is called. I was reading an Indian cent book that there was doubling on 1864-L thru 1886 t1 cents to make a stronger portrait, but only the stronger dies and stronger strikes is where you could see the doubling. Is this the same thing in the pictures?
