entitlement \entitlement\ n. a right granted by law or contract, especially to financial benefits from the government.
I prefer Silver at $5.00 and Gold at $250 to buy but, then again I look at long term investment - minimum of 20 years. Everything in moderation. End of my conversation on this thread as I did not mean to start a political or social economic discussion.

This morning the 8 hour trend spot price for silver is now even lower at $10.28/oz! I think it may settle back to the $8-$9 range as it was.

Other than that, the sellers' loss is their problem! No one has a "right" to make profits. If your not a Airline, Insurance company or some other corporate "talent" you not even entitled to a welfare check from the gub-mint. Your only path to profits is to outwit markets.
Really can't see what is so hard about this. No one has a "right" to make profits simply because they made an investment. Or because they "need the money." Markets don't care if anyone lives or dies let alone what anyone "needs." If someone outwits the market they make money. If they don't then they lose money. No luck at finding cheap silver on ebay. Spot prices continue to weaken but prices on ebay are still nearly twice the spot price. Doesn't look like I'll be able to take advantage of the dropping prices. I checked Littleton but they are just as high as ebay.

It would appear that the spot markets are making an adjustment from their previous rally and highs. It will settle back again. There are so many issues involved and the market(s) are so entirely based upon the World economy as such that it's more difficult to gauge then in years past. There's a lot of selling going on right now to possibly hedge the "inflation" issues. I personally do not use e-bay with any expectations above or beyond numismatic values. Littleton is higher priced, yes, but, their quality is excellent. Personally, I'm backing off purchases until the current market is reflected in the retail markets.
It's much easier and fewer headaches to just back off purchases for a while until I see a possible "value" to a particular long term investment. Longnine...it's not a matter of outwitting the market(s), it's just a case of knowledge and awareness and this is just my opinion and my "right" to it under Constitutional Law, such as you also have. When someone starts using symantics and squabbling about the term "rights" in America it tends to get folks a little hot under the collar. Also, I do not like to see the coin forum become a politcal forum or a place to speak negatively about our communities, Countries or individuals. You, ofcourse, have the "right" to feel otherwise. Our "free enterprise system" does give us the "right" to a profit or loss as the case may be, it's not difficult at all. It is however, a terribly misunderstood and awkwardly misguided process with many issues to consider. Nothing is black and white. Thanks goodness for that. If it were then life would have no challenges, expectations, hopes or dreams.
We have it quite good in America and still, although tenderly, have our freedoms. There are so many countries that the "right" to exist is under the watchful scrutiny of a government entity. Thank God (or whatever spiritual force/being that one believes or disbelieves) we are not one of those Countries!

I think it may be some time until the current low spot prices are reflected in the market place. Silver is down to $9.94/oz. right now as I'm typing this.

Indeed it does, but they are "rights" that markets do not recognize. Markets, are a food chain. The investor's job is to munch down on someone before someone else munches down on him. That requires wits.

Silver is down to $9.50/oz...but the question is when will we be able to buy at or near that price? Sellers on ebay continue to sell the silver maples for double that price.

I believe the answer to nds76 question may be in the thread: Bullion dropping like a rock. If the recent drop hasn't dampened anyones spirits, then shouldn't enthusiasm about the future of silver factor into the price?

I e-mailed an ebay seller (vernon coin center) about lowering their silver bullion prices as silver is under $10 and they currently charge nearly double spot price for the maple leafs. Here is the response. Hello, The owner is on vacation and might lower the price when he gets back.
