I bought this 1763 3 Pence off of ebay and the coin looks better then the scans as the scans are very high contrast.

To clarify: Even though they used coins for Maundy ceremony on and off since John (1199 - 1216) the special Maundy set of coins was not issued until about 1822, for George IV. Till then the regular circulation small silver coins were used. Long reign of George III had a few types of 3d issued with the one pictured here being the first. 1762 & 63 saw a prolific issue which was intended for general circulation. That's the reason why it is hard to find this type in better than VF condition.
