Typical for zinc with the raised bubbles.Gotta give it a MS63. Steps aren't full and some weakness on the reverse lettering.

I'm still too much of a newbie to even think about grading a coin yet. But, I will be watching this. I've run across a few zincolns like this one before, and I don't think I've kept any of them. I'm also curious about the "weakness" at the top of the reverse. I tend to find that quite often during my roll-hunting. Is that normal?

Why not? It's a nearly flawless BU coin. Almost no hits and no black spots.

Yes, one of the reasons the mint changed the reliefs on the Lincoln. Take note of the obverse shoulder area, it's also week in the same area as the reverse.

Looks like Lincoln needs proactive. Every other celebrity sells it! I bet we'll see him soon on the commercials.

I too have run into these and kept some. On average I run into these about every 10 to 15 rolls (not mathematically by any means as my goal with pennies is copper collecting and wheat's). FWIW, the other day when I showed one like this to a dealer he said it was not worth saving. Sometimes I wonder about that person's comments as my son (9 years) who is impartial said that he did not trust the guy. lol

My question is how would you save these? (Flips / tubes)
What criteria would you use whether to keep or not? (Spotting / dings).
What price would you put on these? (5, 10, 20 cents)

The price question is so that I can tag it for my son's future reference. I am new to this and am educating my self as I move along.

Once I get a scanner I will post some pics of pennies for you and others to review. My son's earliest finds are a 1905 Indian head and a 09 (No vdb).

Halfwitty,
I am noticing that zinc coated pennies with bubbling; invariably have this issue with the lettering regardless of year especially around the word "states". It almost looks like smudging of the lettering. I have also seen ones where Lincolns high point on the Vest / Jacket has no coating.

Peace

I'd give it an MS-64 weak strike. There are really no signs of wear that I can see.
