JimR Pillar of the Community United States 1490 Posts	Posted 02/21/2010 09:09 am Ok I think enough of you have chimed in that I will reveal the grade that PCGS provided. I also noted on the back of the slab a David Lawrence sales id tag so I went to their website and pulled these scans from their website. I was also happy to see I didn't pay near what it went for in the DLRC Auction. Most of you put the grade at MS65-MS66 however all of you gave it the RD designation while PCGS gave it an RB. I don't disagree with you all at all because in hand this LWC really appears to be an RD cent not an RB cent. In any event I think it is definitely a PQ RB cent. BadThad Bedrock of the Community United States 19949 Posts	Posted 02/21/2010 2:48 pm HAHAHAHA....I had a feeling this would go 66. The problem is the TPG's are really inconsistant between 65 and 66. Once again I see another 66 that's not as nice as my 39-D, that shows me I was robbed by a crappy day at NGC again. Just look at my coin that NGC gave me a 66 on. It looks a LOT better in hand, blazing luster and there's hardly a hit on it. In hand the only hit I see is on the obverse rim. Lincoln Cent Lover! JimR Pillar of the Community United States 1490 Posts	Posted 02/21/2010 4:42 pm Thad, That is a nice 39-D and I agree the obverse is really clean with the exception of the hit on the obverse rim at 12:00. The reverse though appears to have a scratch between the P& L of Pluribus, on the C of cent and below the A. Maybe that's what got you the MS66. Did NGC give you a RD designation on it. I guess mine went RB because of the subtle browning on either side of Lincoln. The reverse appears to be totally RD. Report this Post to the Staff

Yea, it's a 66 red....I was ROBBED! I've compared it to many on ha.com this one smokes everything I saw. If it was more valuable, I'd submit it to PCGS, but right now I'm going to count my loss on the $25 grading fee. Lincoln Cent Lover!
