Hello everyone.
I was sorting through a bag of coins I bought and came accross these two. I'm not really sure what they are or where they came from. Any input would be greatly apperciated. Pictures make coins look scratched but it is the plastic, These look to be proof.

You'll find that most "coins" made by the Franklin mint will sell at bullion prices. They might be proof and really beautiful, but will hardly ever bring much over spot price. They minted tons of collectables over the years..

A mint can make an item that is NOT LEGAL TENDER but usually it's called a medalion. Some Medalions have beautiful designs but they rarely increase in value. I think this is because the manufacturer has no limit to the quanity they produce.

The modern day mints have got into the market place by producing "Non Circulating Legal Tender" coins. The coins also have beautiful designs but seem to be more limited in quanity at this stage. But some mints are killing off this market by producing such large quanities and varieties of NCLT coins that it becomes impossible to afford for the average collector. Once collectors give up trying to "get them all" then the market for these coins begins to die.
It's the old story of killing the Goose that laid the Golden Egg.
