My local pawn shop has several 1/10 ounce gold coins and will sell them to me for spot. Is that a good deal? He also has a 1979 Kugerrand that he will sell me at spot. What do you think?

It would be hard to find it any cheaper than spot I would think. If you have the cash and want the gold then go for it.

The price at spot is as low as you will find. The Krugerrand carries the least premium over spot but still a cool coin. That would put 1/10th coins at around $106-$108 each.

I agree, usually its spot plus X (X can change with different dealers) so spot price is as good as you will ever find because you are just buying metal content not the coin

I'd jump all over the 1/10th's if they were Eagles.

I bought several 1/10 Gold Eagle Coins from the shop today. Paid $105.00 apiece for the. Now how much should I offer for the 1/2 half Gold Eagle and the 1979 Kurgurand? Hmmmm
