I noted a couple of threads here regrading similar medallions a figured maybe someone here would know more about the medallion I have. It is a 1955 Ford Motor Company commemorative medallion given to employees during the re-opening of the Ford Rotunda in Dearborn, Michigan. This 2 inch medallion has the protraits of Henry Ford, Edsel Ford and Henry Ford, II on the front, and an image of the Rotunda along with the inscription "FIFTY YEARS FORWARD ON THE AMERICAN ROAD - FORD MOTOR COMPANY - 1903 1955" on the back. Anyone know where to find info on and what it might be worth.

I am sure that what you have is actually a 1953 Ford Medallion, for the company's 50th Anniversary. I assume these were given out to employees and also customers as a keepsake. It was a big deal to the company and they also made note of the fact on the horn buttons that year:

1955-Ford-Medallion

There were other promo items also:

You have an excellent item here, because it straddles two hobbies: coin/medallion collecting and car collecting. I am thinking you would likely realize the most income (if you wanted to sell) among the latter, expecially if the buyer actually has a '53 Ford.

Unfortunately, I couldn't even hazard a guess as to value. Because of it straddling two hobbies, I am thinking the price would be higher than average, but even if it was, say $20, you could still probably get twice that from someone who's into cars. With the interest on that side (and maybe buying all of them up), it could also be a situation where this could drive the price up among medallion collectors. It's really hard to say, but I am guessing it would definitely be a keeper if it's in good shape. Your best bet is to watch on ebay for comparable ones.
