Can you get any real deals/steals here? What is the Buyer's Premium (in perecents)? I was looking at buying the coin in the link and wondered if you needed to have paypal?
Thanks for the info

Buyer's Premium is 15%, minimum $14. I wouldn't expect any earthshattering deals, simply because it's the single biggest venue of the type, with the single biggest audience. Heritage makes the market for a large percentage of collectible coinage. That said, it's pretty easy to find coins for far less than dealer sell price or ebay results.

Yeah, there are very few awesome deals to be had on HA. However, if you are looking for a specific coin, you can almost always find it on there at market.

Unless you live in Texas then there are no real deals to be had as you have to add 8.25% sales tax to the final bid along with the 15% buyers premium.

Because TX and CA have some kind of reciprocal sales tax arrangement we CA residents are also subject to state sales tax for Heritage buys. However, if the total purchase is $1500 or more the sales tax is waived.

Although many of my nicest coins came from Heritage auctions, in the last few years my bids on items I like just haven't been competitive. Strangely, the coins I find attractive always seem to attract bids from folks with deeper pockets. It does appear that if you have choice high-end stuff for sale you might be able to maximize your return through Heritage, even after they extract their cut of the proceeds.

with Jaobler. I feel very comfortable to bid on the high end coins at the Heritage auction (online bidding). I think they will not send me fake PCGS slabbed coins. I just received the catalog of the March Fort Worth auction yesterday.

Jaobler, Heritage has to collect sales tax on shipments to CA because it has a location in Beverly Hills.

another way to get a good buy from heritage is if you are looking for varieties. their pictures are good enough to tell which variety the coin is even if its not marked on the slab and if no one else is looking at that particular coin for that particular variety you can get it for a pretty good deal. I have gotten many VAM's in unattributed slabs from Heritage and have been happy with each purchase price even after I pay the buyers premium
