Looking for a 1970 Canadian Specimen Set in the Black Narrow Case. Specially made at the RCM for Trudeau's trip to China. Left over sets were sold to the public for $13.00.

Does anyone out there have one? And is it worth the current price tag of $700.

There were less than 1000 minted.

Heard about them, read about them in Charlton, never seen one.
Rumour has it, it was Trudeau introducing those coins to them, with the limited mintage, and the inflated price, is what started the Chinese in counterfeiting foreign coins.

A very scarce set for sure. I think a lot of them have been certified for reasons of authenticity, so
finding original sets in original cases may be tough. If I found a good looking set for $700 I'd snap
it up. I believe they were listed at $1000 a couple years ago.

If you have a chance on a 1970 SP set at under $700 I'd look at the set if I were you, because this might be worth having.
and yes - PET - Good
