Um, you can buy perfectly good staplers that will handle 2x2's at Staples for $5.....
I got the one I use at the Dollar Store for, you guessed it, $1. It seals 2x2's perfectly.

I looked at Staples and Wal-mart today and I couldn't find the flat clinch staplers. All I saw were the regular staplers.

I should mention that I'm perfectly comfortable, and prefer, the staplers which do a round clinch on the staple. It seems to me that if the point is turned inwards, it stand less of a chance of snagging on another 2x2.

nds76: Check out cointown.com. They have MAX Staplers starting at about $11.00. I recently purchased mine from my dealer and the flat staples are wonderful (and recommended) for securing the 2x2's. They make a BIG difference over regular staples!

Thanks for the suggestions. My reasoning for wanting this particular stapler is because the rounded clinch makes indentation marks on my plastic pages in my notebook in which I insert the 2x2's.

Yup! That's exactly what was happening to me also. It just took me a while to get around to buying the flat staple stapler. Ofcourse, I did this AFTER I put most of my type sets together! Live and learn!

I recently started using a pliers to flatten my staples. It seems to work well.

texasmick......I thought about doing that but, I have hundreds to do. From here on out atleast they're already flat! My little MAX works great and makes my enjoyment that much more. I'll probably have to go back eventually and flatten the others out though. I hope that future collectors can learn from our boo-boos!!

Ah! I don't use albums, so I didn't know. Good point, and it changes my opinion of the matter.

I really prefer a "hand held" stapler compared to the table (desk) models. My dealer got me hooked and I will never go back!

My little MAX is a hand held also and I love it! The staples go in much easier and they're flat - imagine that! No pokey little edges to catch on anything and I don't have to press them down...great little invention for a small investment. Just wish I'd done it a whole lot sooner!!!!! Hint, hint for our new collectors!

I am a plier man as well because I only put about 10 coins a month in 2x2's at the most. If you do this alot get the flat stapler to save time.
