Actually there were no dimes minted in San Francisco in 1974. The last were minted in 1955 and not minted again until the proofs started in 1968.

Awesome job on finding those silver dimes!

For sale: previously unknown set of 1968s to 1974s dimes. POR, which is another way of saying "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it."

First, I've never found a silver dime both in my change and rolls. Second, I do think that this forum should become sticky, or maybe moved to a new forum named roll hunting forum, if there will be one.

Regarding the previous poster who found the 1968 canadian dime, some are 50% silver, some are not. If it sticks to a magnet, throw it back.

Just found this one tonight in an otherwise unremarkable box of dimes:

I call it the "Repaired Torch." :-)

Hi guys, I recently became interested in collecting coins, mostly silver and/or old coins. So then I found out about coin roll searching for free old silver coins, and was instantly hooked. I was googling around and found this thread, and I've been reading through it for a couple hours. I feel like I know most of the basics now, and I decided to join the forums.

So I went to the bank and got $40.00 (I can't get many rolls at a time, I've been a little low on cash lately) in dime rolls. I got a nice 1962-P, which I think is pretty awesome at 1 dime per $40.

Well I'm going to try to dime roll search often, I'll tell everyone if I find anything.
