I was walking around my university's library and I always check the coin returns of vending machines for any loose change. I saw a dime in one of the coin returns, and when I picked it up I thought "No way!" as I saw the plain gray edge of a 1962-D Roosevelt.

You can't go wrong with free silver!

Thanks! I went into work in a bad mood since it's Saturday and all. Now I'm glad I did!

I couldn't believe it. Every time I fished one out I kept seeing Mercs! Somebody obviously wasn't paying attention (or didn't care) when they deposited their dimes at their bank.

All Roosevelt dimes minted between 1946 and 1964 are 90% silver.

I did not think it was possible, but when walking by the vending machines today, I found some change in the cups. Out of the total $2.50 face value in change, one coin was a 1957-D Roosevelt. Who would have thought that two free silver dimes would come up within a week of each other? Maybe I should start searching again...
