Dime Roll Searching

this year, I have done 78 boxes for 78 silvers, so a pretty steady average of 1 per box.

mmmmmmmmm I have checked four boxes.no silver. maybe I need a new bank.

i used to do dimes a lot, but have stopped. today while getting nickels and pennies, I got 3 rolls of dimes and got a 52 d! id call that a score!

davef, have you tried buying surplus customer-rolled from banks that don't have coin counters? Reason I mention this is because in my area of northeast US, few banks have counters. I was buying $3k per month of cwr dimes that I picked up in $1k bags. VERY simple to quickly re-roll, or dump loose...If I wanted, I could have easily upped my volume to $5k per month between 5 banks. In three years straight up until last year, I averaged one silver per $150.

I usually don't do dimes.

I have only done 3 dime boxes when I was trying to fill holes in my album.

The 2 silver dimes I have found when I went and looked at the date of each coin I would have missed if I was rim searching (I know because I looked at the rims while opening each roll)

I decided to pick up $100 in dimes when picking up my halves and nickels. Since Chase doesn't take loose coin anymore and all of the holes in my album are filled I unrolled the end crimp and pushed the coins out with a pen. I did one roll at a time so that I would not have to count them out when I rerolled them. Well halfway through one roll that didn't want to push out and I really had to force the pen to get them out and then they went flying all over the desk when I heard the sound of silver. I went and looked at each coin and sure enough there was a 1964. Checking the rim I would have missed this one too if only rim searching. Luckily I heard the silver ring. I also found a Swiss 5 gold colored something.

$50 all 2015-D. I did find two dimes in some penny rolls, though, so it wasn't a total loss. Paid for the gas to get to the end of my driveway.

I have had no luck with dimes. EVER!
