Dime Roll Searching

Today was my first search in several weeks and out of $250, I found three silver Roosevelts: '62-D, '63, and '64-D, and three Canadian dimes.

Been hitting the dimes for the last week or so. Last week I got 3 Brinks boxes that yielded a 49' Roosie, a 63' Roosie and a 67' Canadian. I then traded one of those in for $195 in CWR's. That yielded 2 Roosies(62' and another I cannot remember). I also traded another one for $250 in CWR's which yielded a single 63'. Finally, yesterday I bought a $250 box and found a 64'.
So, $1445 of mixed CWR's and boxed dimes yielded 7 silver dimes.

I stumbled across this thread last night and was totally shocked by how successful a lot of you guys are with these dime rolls. So this morning I grabbed two brinks boxes from my bank and gave it a shot. Turns out, they came out completely dry.

Is it pretty common for two consecutive boxes to skunk you? I was just edge searching, am I maybe doing something wrong?

Years ago, my wife often did shows with me. Her name was money.

One of my customers usually brought his daughter, and sometimes his wife. The three year old looked forward to it, and all dad had to do is ask if she wanted to go see Fred and all his money.

She didn't understand coin collecting, but always liked to visit with my wife, money.

I stopped at a bank that I have an account at and they would only let me buy two rolls before it would be 15 cents extra per roll. Out of those two rolls I pulled a 1950s. I don't know if anyone keeps stats on dimes but that has to be pretty rare from circulation.

Skunked on my 200 dollar worth of rolls today. I didbat least find a few keepers for my future album.

For all the people not finding silver dimes, I average one silver coin for every three or four boxes.
In other words, you need to check 1 grand in dimes, or 200 rolls to average one silver dime.

Some posters go through 10 boxes a week, so you see the silver in their end results, but they don't really mention how many skunks they had to grin and bear to get there.

Also some posters that seem to "find" mountains of silver on a consistent basis- lets just say I wonder about those posts...

That isn't to say once in a while you will hit the lotto (find a box with 5 or ten silver coins) I never have, but the law of averages say they have to be out there. Boxes like that have to be exceedingly rare- rarer than some people claim to find them anyway.
