Poll Question
Or the new shield back set? As I was putting the last of the 2009 cents in my Dansco album it occurred to me that they really aren't LMC's but they are not shield backs either. I just wanted everyone opinion which set will you keep the 2009's with in the future?

I don't care because I couldn't decide. Are the commemorating the last of the LMC or the first of the LSC? In the end, it only matters what the people who make the albums think.

I voted "don't really care". I keep all my Cents in 2x2's, in a large three ring binder. The 2009's are in the order of issue, just like the rest. The shields go next to them.

Omahaorange,I have 2 sets, one in a Dansco and one in 2 x 2's and I like the flexability of the 2 x 2's but with albums like Dansco you are pretty much locked into what the publishers decide but I like the presentation of the coins. I guess that is where my dilemma comes in!

Keep them separate as a compete 200th Anniversary set!

I put them in my Dansco 7100 album which has all business strike Lincoln cents from 1909 to present (wheats, memorials, etc.). So, I guess I don't have a dilemma.
I would say the memorial series ended in 2008. If I had an album dedicated to memorials, I guess I'd wait to see if the publisher made a new album that started in 2009 available.

My opinion is that they are a separate commemorative series within the complete Lincoln Cent series. I feel the same way about the original Jefferson nickels, Westward Journey nickels, and the current new-portrait nickels. Three separate series within the greater Jefferson nickel series. In the end, one should put them where one feels they would fit best in their collection!

hockingzig- I collect for me, so presentation is not a concern at this time. I have one of everything in the binder, in the order of issue. My duplicates are either in 2x2's in a tray, or in rolls or tubes. I am waiting to see if my granddaughter develops an interest, then we'll fill albums. She's two now, but likes to sit with pappap and "see money" every time I get new stuff, or pull out the ones I have. The flexibility of the binder eliminates where to put the new issues. They go in the order they were released.

For me I would expect them to go in BOTH sets. I guess most people will decide when they look at their Dansco books. Personally I use flips so it is not an issue. Sincerely, John Leckrone

They're totally unique, so you'll have to get a special folder just for them!
Actually, changeover year has ended in 9, so these must be part of the new series.
