How do you tell a proof with this series? Is it no stars?

That's a great coin and seems to have retained full mint luster. I can't see any significant wear in any of the highest points. Looks MS to me. At the very least, a high AU.

Aren't those coins fun to photograph? I know...I just spent a whole bunch of time on my 1829, and while I got decent photos, the coin still looks better in hand. Understanding that....also plays into my assessment of grade. I'd be willing to bet that this coin also looks even better "in the flesh".

Yes, the obverse is more of a gun metal grey rather than dull brown.

This coin screams MS-63. More than half of the highly attractive mint luster, tiny blemishes. Excellent coin.

I think it's MS-63, very nice coin. This is not a "no stars" version which has to do with the 13 stars on obv. whether they are present or not. Great Head Detail. Looks Original. Very Nice.

Beaut!

I know next to nothing about these things...but they are small coins. Those marks on the coin are TINY.

MS64 or 65.

Does the full head detail on Half Dimes apply to the value in the same manner with SLQ's or Mercury Dimes(Bands)?
