1964 D Lincoln ? Educational Specimen

I have never seen this before and thought I would share with the group.
It almost looks like someone spent an awful lot of time with a small grinder
to get it perfectly round. Then again I may be completely wrong being I have never seen something like this. Thoughts, Opinions and Weird Smileys are welcome. Might make a good educational coin for detecting an altered coin
so someone does not waste good money on one. If in fact that is what it is. I ran across it in a group of Lincoln Cents I bought for face.

Edit: If this does turn out to be a fake
Feel free to copy these pictures for any educational use
for teaching young numismatist's about the altering techniques of coins.

If the rim is getting wide the coin probably has spent time in a dryer.

Trimmed with a hollow punch applied to the reverse face. Not an error.

Finally was able to get the 64-D above on to a set of scales
Weight is 2.5 Grams, 17 mm

yea that's a tampered coin you could tell maybe shaved down in some way post mint to me
