Any official or unofficial guestimates about how many 98, 99 & 2000 WAMs are out there, discovered or not discovered? Also, is the 1998 WAM really more common than the 2000 WAM as recent posts have suggested? An inquiring mind wants to know. Thanks.

I'd like to know some guesstimates, too. Based on prices I've seen, 2000's seem to be more "common" than the 98's.

I was asking about relative rarities because I have found, as have others, more 1998s than 2000s.

Just counted and will have to add for the ones that I have given to forum members and I maybe off by one or two. You guys may not believe these numbers and I would really hate to have to start taking pics for everyone, here it goes:
WAMs:
1998 - 18 on hand with 4 in 2x2s and in AU condition. Gave away 2
2000 - 23 on hand with 9 in 2x2s and in AU condition. Gave away 4
1999 - 1 found in the last month. BadThad grades it MS-64/65. I will have it graded in the future.
I have been looking for them hard for 3 plus yrs and found a fair amount early on. They have slowed down in a big way in the last yr. Guess we are slowly finding them and pulling them from circulation.

Oh, to answer the next question, I live in Maryland about 2.5 hrs south of the mint. I guess it is a great place to be searching rolls.

Oh, I seem to remember Chuck posting a hip shoot analysis of numbers based on expected lifetime of a die and the numbers of dies used. I wish I knew how to find it but don't know how. I his estimate, there were more 2000s than 1998s and they both, naturally, way exceeded the 1999s.

No wonder I can't find any, you've got them all!

I have probably looked thru about 500,000 cents and I have found 23 each of the 1998 and 2000. I have found five of the 1999's. I did not find any for two or three months and then this week I found 2 1998s and one 2000.

I've probably found around a dozen or so of both the 1998 and 2000 then they dried up a couple of years ago. I found only one 2000 WAM last year, but I just found two 2000 WAMs in the past 3 days. I hoping this will be a better year. I'm sure a lot have already been plucked out of circulation but with everyone turning in their change lately, we might see another wave of them again. Just keeping looking. Rock
