I dropped by a local coin shop today while running errands and found this in the owner's "international" folder. I'm pretty psyched about this coin. It looks way better in hand than my bad scan suggests. I'm pretty new to grading Canadian coins so if anyone has an opinion, I'd be happy to hear it. Thanks!

Looks nice. The '23's I see offered for sale seem to be very prone to surface nicks, rim nicks, odd color splotches, green gunk and various other problems, making a problem free one tough to come by even in circulated grades.

Nice coin! Great colour! From what I can see of the obverse it'll likely grade F-12. A keeper!

Indeed F12, but a nice score..how much?
Recent trends value for this coin is......(drum roll)...$40.00 Canadian.
How much detail there is along the headband of the crown, plays in intregal part in the grading of this obverse design.

Thanks for the grades! I paid US$15 and was worried that I had gone overboard. I'll check the headband. What sorts of detail should I be looking for? I'm pretty new to this series and I'm not sure what parts of the design are most important in grading and what wears first.
