Thanks for the link I got lost on the site,Had not looked at it for 3 years the product line has become insane. It's the marketing equivalent of Sport Cards or beanie babies, value is in the eye of the beholder, especially if you are a collector. The mintage is really low.

I find the site busy...but I think its a great improvement from years ago.
Low mintage indeed...no comment if I like the look of the coin, but I do like high reliefs they had in the past.
I ordered one online with the hopes it increases in value over a short period of time

This coin just may go up in value, not due to the forecast mintage, but due to the price - which is sure to scare away a lot of folks.... and may substantially reduce the final mintage... time will tell though...

The reverse is a pretty good depiction of what I felt when I saw the price

No need to apologize.
Indeed they have brought out alot of crap in the past.
The 'guitar pick shaped' milk token and the other one is a joke. I'm not into the colourized, halogrammed or svorski crystaled garbage either.
Im just going to roll the dice and see if the low mintage may kick the value into hyperspace.
I seem to recall the Queen Mom dollar coin from a few years back, that initally went for 40 bucks or so, is now hitting 350-400 bucks. Without looking it up I think the mintage was 8,000.
Is it a sleeper? Who knows...

The enamel effect Canadian flag of 2005 had a mintage of 5000 and sold for $99,It sold out at the mint immediately and within a month it was selling for $350 - $400 on ebay. The next year the RCM issued another enamel coin , medal of bravery I think, but this time they increased the mintage to 7500 and the price to $139.00 it increased in resell value as well but not as much. The latest is the Joseph Brant enamel coin , same mintage same price but not much interest.

This coin with a mintage of 5000 will be hard to find in a very short time and I think will almost certainly increase in value.

I don't think that is a SUN, I think it is a thing on the bottom of a ski pole.
But it would make a pretty cool wheel cover too.
I bet that the face is some sort of Native American art.

What is the R.C.M. thinking?! This silver dollar is UGLY! And at that price they must be kidding. There's a limit of 3 per household. I'd be suprised if even one per household sells of such an ugly coin in this economy. I think the R.C.M. needs to read this post. Someone forward it to them!

I liked Michael Findlay's recent Trends commentary about NFLD coins, as it applies here (IMO).
In a nutshell...if you don't have strong demand, relative scarcity alone will not be enough to drive prices.

I ordered 2 a few minutes ago. I really like the "normal" canadian coins, not so much the guitar picks, etc. To each his own. At least they are innovative, unlike the US mint, recycling old designs over and over and over.

Did anybody actually get one shipped to them yet from the RCM?
Did anyone get one from a dealer?
Im just trying to see if I need to contact the mint once again and ask them to ship this.
With only 5K of these minted, and the fact I web ordered one within 24 hrs of their release I want to be damned sure I get mine and not forgotton.
