Consider all the following the bad advise of a newbie ...... still learning but quickly getting up to speed ....

The loss of lettering at the top of the obverse makes this an interesting MAD ... but not worth a significant premium to most collectors.

The weakness in "USA" on the reverse is not associated with the MAD ..... unless you tell us this coin has a 180 degree die rotation.

Bottom line ...... looks like a typical mis-aligned die (MAD) to me ..... worthy of keeping in your own personal collection of curiosities as a great circulated find....

The experts will soon weigh in with their views.

It's a nice educational piece for new collectors. When it was BU it would of had a nice premium for it. Looks like it spent too much time in the slot machines. LOL

Thanks for the comment Coop.I'll agree it's spent to much time in the wild.It would have been nice to have found it 30 35 years ago.it's amazing that some coins of this nature can stay in circulation for such a long time

If by "offset misalignment" you mean a horizontal misalignment, you are correct. This, as opposed to a vertical misalignment or tilted die error.
Error coin writer and researcher.
