Great fun ..... stopped today at my local 7-11 (convenience store for you out-of-country folks) .... and was handed a full date 1916-D Buffalo as part of my change.

The coin is alas horribly corroded ....and as such quite ugly ..... and somebody prior to me took some steel wool or such to the date area ...... but it is still a 1916-D Buffalo in pocket change.

Some bad photos ....

Amazing that a relatively scarce coin is still circulating 94 years later!

Makes me wonder who would have taken the time to buff the date area, then throw it back into change?

Whatever .... it is always a fun day to have a clerk hand you an oldie in pocket change!

That is cool to get something like that as change. Just a shame it's so beat up, though. Still a nice catch.

Well, Dave, that just proves it, it certainly pays to be a good boy. WTG!

Note to self: I must start shopping at 7-11s more often...
