Now that is a real dilly? Who in their right mind-even with unlimited funds would want to own such a coin. Apparently-several people do.- But thanks, but no thanks- let the billionaires fight over this one. Dewey

Is there anyone in this world that would honestly bid over half a million dollars on ebay? The sellers rating of 18 is a real confidence booster, NOT.

What is more special is that it seems that it was imported out from Japan at one stage.

A huge "coin" that is. I've seen that one in some other site before.

By the way it's not Australian, it's Austrian

It doesn't say this coin was imported from Japan, it says that since they have minted this coin in 1989 they have sold many other denominations of various sizes and that they have been sold throughout the world, and particularly in Japan. Doesn't say this coin came from japan or even crossed Japan to get here, it just says they sold alot of the Philharmonic coins were bought by peiple in Japan

It's too big of a coin for me. I don't know if I would buy that even if I were Bill Gates.
To me, a "coin" is something you can hold in your palm. This is a big gold bullion piece with very nice figures on it.

If I ever bought that thing, I would be forced to try and spend it somewhere. Could you imagine? The cashier says, "That'll be $56.88, please," and you drop this huge chunk of gold on the counter with a tremendous metallic GONGGGGGGGGG.

Speaking strictly from a decorators point of veiw, if you slapped some legs on that baby it would make a lovely end table for Donald Trump's home. Goes with the solid gold commode.
