Most people are concerned with the obverse side of a coin, I was just wondering which coins reverse is most appealing? Mine happens to be the Washington quarter. I admire how the eagle fills the entire surface. I also like the Lincoln Wheat, Three Cent Silver and Liberty Head Gold $20. Any Comments? :) Edited by VinceU 03/17/2010 11:43 pm

I love the 3d looking eagle on the reverse of the Peace dollar, as well as the $20 gold, and the walker half.

I am sure everyone knows by now. Do I even have to say it?

WOW, how soon we all forget the most popular reverse of almost any coin. The Indian Head Nickel. Since that coin's reverse is so popular, most people today call that the Buffalo nickel. As to this disscusion about the reverses of coins. I wonder how many have ever noticed that the greatest amount of error coins are noted as a problem with the Obverse. I suspect that this is due to so few ever even look at the reverse of a coin. If you don't believe me try what I did. I go for breakfast about 2 times a week with a bunch of people. I've pulled out coins of different denominations and of different varieties. Some newer and some older such as a Buffalo nickel, Jefferson nickel, Kennedy half, etc. Then asked if anyone could say what is on the reverse. Usually the best I get is "Isn't there an Eagle or some bird on them all?"

Quote:my favorite reverse is on the coin with the best obverse: Walking Liberty half dollar. Funny, I agree about the obverse, but just don't like the design of the eagle on the reverse. I've grown to really love a nice, full-red Wheat cent... Joe
