I've just started using acetone for the first time after reading about it on this forum. Some of the coins pictured spent hours in acetone to get tape, glue, and worse off them. I wanted to get a little feedback before I continue restoring the rest of my grandfathers Wheats, Indians, and Buffalo nickels.

Just make sure you do a search on this forum for all the precautions, methods, procedures on the usage of Acetone. Always remember to rinse coins after the Acetone with distilled water. Remember that whatever was on the Coins in now in the Acetone and as you remove the coin from the Acetone, some of the Acetone is still on the coin and as it evaporates, that original stuff from the coins may now again be there from the evaporated Acetone.
And remember to really, really read all the precautions for the usage of any flamable substance.
Your coins are starting to look really nice.

Most of what acetone will remove, it will remove quickly. I haven't heard of cases where soaking in acetone for days was beneficial (though you may have experienced that with the tape on your coins). I've had good success with distilled water, acetone, xylene, then distilled water. All the normal caveats: don't rub the coins, dip or rinse it, pat it dry, yada yada.

Id like to know what do you use to handle your coins in/out of acetone.

I've been using Q-tips to slide the coins out of a small bulb shaped glass. The size of the glass allows the coins to slide on the rims. These coins were the worst of the group by far. I still do not know what to do with the coins with the verdigris issues. I guess olive oil?
