talking to my dealer in town. he will be getting his UNC gold buffalo in about two weeks. He said he will be selling his for 30.00 over spot to if you cna not afford the proof dealer should have them soon. Probaly before you will bet your proof from the mint. Good luck everyone with your orders. I can't afford to get one but hope they payoff for all of you.

The F below the date is the inital of the designer, James Earle Fraser. The W just below the feather is the mint mark.

My thinking on proof vs. business strike. The proofs are a limited numbers, and W mintmark, and will always carry a premium versus business strike, which they are making as many as they can sell, and will probably always only be worth spot price, like Gold Eagles.
But the proofs alone, making $200+ per, would be 60 million dollars. Cash cow is right Gary. I may have ANACS slab mine just for protection purposes.

Was having trouble with my IE browser, so switched over to Safari and it went through like expected. NO problems at all, and they are now on order. Don't have any idea how long it will take to fill the order, but at least they are placed. Good luck to the rest of you!

I am struggling with this question. What will keep the coin in the best condition? I have heard people argue over this...original mint packaging or slabbed with rating. What do you guys think? I never cared much but I also never bought a coin this expensive :).

I won't pay the premium for the proof or the W mint mark as ALL of the coins were struck at West Point. Also I would NEVER consider having a bullion coin slabbed as like it or not they are bullion and most of them will grade very very high so why bother?

I'm a slab kind of guy and I am a member of a grading company so I have access to send coins in and there is a 5 coin minimum if you want to send in economy ($16.00 a coin) so if I have 5 or more I go that route but if I only have one I go earlybird at 30 bucks a pop but either way every coin I have that is worthy goes in a slab unless it is a bullin coin like crystalk64 said like the silver eagle or this gold bullion coin even though the gold may be a little hard not to put in a nice slab but I think I could resist but all proof coins are a given, they will be slabbed no questions asked

I am thinking of getting my Proof Gold Buffalo and Proof Silver Buffalo slabbed...I never sent one to be slabbed, but am thinking PCGS. I know some people may disagree but from what I notice, having the coin slabbed will increase the value when ready to sell in the future, and it will be cataloged for insurance purpose. This is the 1st coin I have ever spent this much money on.
