Hmmmm Scooby. Can you zoom in on it a bit more? Doesn't look like anything from here but maybe a bit of trail.

Are trails usually raised? I'll try to get a better pic up soon, I drained my camera battery trying to get that one (I must have taken 60 pictures). I wish I could figure out this stupid QX5 I just bought.

Quote: what is that a caligraphy G or something LOL - I know, right? Maybe it's just an extremely well placed die chip, but it definitely got my attention. The "tail" is just a little bit lower than the rest of the G as it tapers downward, but it's definitely connected.

Could be a well placed small gas bubble.

Looks like a plating issue to me, maybe a copper zit John1

It's not a zit, it's solid.

I was not referring to it as a gas bubble, sorry. It is solid and it's probably debris from the plating proses. John1

From the first image you can see a gas bubble at an angle that intersects with the tail of the G. The other images don't show the bubble in the NE/SW direction.

That caught my attention too, coop. I ruled it out first before posting. The bubble wave does run under and through the G, but the "tail" is solid. At a certain angle, the tail also looks split, but it could be lighting/illusion - not sure.
Unless you guys want some better pics (or if I figure out the QX5), I'm going to lean toward bizarre die chip.

i have never seen anything like this, it looks like the serif is extended over to the west a little. Not sure of the cause.

The 1st photo looks almost like one of the listed double die reveres in the 1964 P series. But it may be just an odd machine double
