Made a tweek in the formula today. I hope to do some more testing tonight including a soak test. I'm going to 24 hour test on coins with and without verdigris.

I'm excited since Verdi-gone was not for nickels but this VERDI-CARE™ may be helpful with nickels. I will be buying some of this stuff when it's available. Thanks for your developement.

I have some tests coming with the tweeked formula just for the nickel lovers. This 77 had light and moderate verdigris. The results are what I expected, most of the light verdigris was removed and the heavy remained. Perhaps better results could be obtained by submersing the coin in VERDI-CARE™ and working the areas with a toothpick or thorn. Note: Residue between STATES and OF on reverse was not verdigris. It was a blackish, gummy, lightly adhered organic material. Exp.Lot 100331A

Thanks Thad, I don't have anything as bad as that 1977 to worry about so I think I will do fine. I see the appearance of the coin is not affected as far as color and remaining luster. Definately an improvement. That almost looks like the pvc green slime but you know verdigris when you see it I am sure.

This nickel has a very "washed out" look. It looks to have been exposed to something acidic during it's life....the corrosion is also a tell-tail sign. Looks like VERDI-CARE™ did a good job of conditioning the corrosion and removing the thin verdigris on top of the corrosion. Exp.Lot 100331A

This coin was pretty nice to start. I probably would not have applied it to this coin as a collector, but it's just another experiment:

This is a stability test I started yesterday using the IHC. Over 24 hours after application permitted to open air dry. Notes: * Previous IHC picture was taken immediately after application, perhaps slightly over-exposed. * Left picture is BEFORE application. * Exp. lot 100329A

Quote: have you tried this on SACs SBAs or Presidentials? Great question....no I haven't. I'll have to see if I can dig some up or perhaps someone else can test them. One thing is...the latest SACS and Presidentials are generally in fantastic condition today. The reason? The exact same main active ingredient in VERDI-CARE™ is used by the mint.

I like that you tested it on a silver War Nickel for us, the results look pretty good so far, including on that IHC. Does the IHC seem as "oily" in hand as the photo?
