Quite possibly. Latex is sticky enough to embed little particles you can't see, but might harm the coin. Clean cotton gloves are much more preferable, although I don't use gloves at all. I'd rather the greater tactile sensation, lessening the chance of a drop. Either way, handle them only by the rims, and as little as possible.

Clean cotton gloves

I noticed SuperDave mentioned "clean" cotton gloves.
That is something to think about too.......that the gloves one uses are actually "clean" and free from contaminates or particles. It isn't something that I've ever concerned myself with before....but I will now.
Know when to put on a "new" pair !! .... (or hand wash the ones you have once in awhile)

Latex gloves are typically powdered, not something you want to get on your coin. The cotton gloves SuperDave mentioned are preferable for someone who is not comfortable handling raw coin with bare hands.

I thought that they were powdered on this inside of the glove, not the outside?

They are powdered on the inside but the electrostatic charge of the gloves ensures that some of the powder will be on the outside of the glove as well.

I think having your mouth covered is more important than gloves personally. Breathing over coins can cause problems that show up after a good amount of time passes. As it was said, always handle coins by the edge and over a soft surface should you fumble.

By their own admission--in the PCGS video--PCGS is using CHILD LABOR to grade coins! It's a scandal! A 'Big One', too!

Listen carefully at minute 2:40...

I would use either cotton gloves, like the ones the Mint uses when producing proofs, or tongs.
