Uncentered Obverse 92 Cent - Coin Community Forum

2020 C New Member United States 33 Posts	Posted 04/03/2010 11:31 am Yesterday I found a 1999 D Lincoln that has an obverse centering error . It was stamped off center causing the rim on one side to be heavy and thick a non-existent edge rim on the other . The reverse is normal... Question is what is the name for this ? and is it very rare ? I don't have a camera other than my cellphone so I can not provide a picture . Report this Post to the Staff

pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 04/03/2010 11:47 am Sounds more like a MAD (misaligned die). If the reverse is centered then this is not an off centered coin. If the reverse is centered, obverse is a little off center and the amount of being off center does not go into the design or the letters then this is a normally struck coin. A MAD is not an error until some design elements including letters are missing. Report this Post to the Staff
