Sorry to all for my disinvolvment of important , unresolved topics. Life got very rough for a while. Then became exponentially better with some unbelievable finds !
so on, I'm not sure what would be the proper error description for this 1997 D dime? ?
The photo is 'Close' ,I know, But the details needed to be sharp!
The first photo is the profile of Roosevelt's forehead at top left, down to the bottom of the nose. The 'Eye' is what is to be seen for there seems to be at least three of them ! One below the other with some other type of minting mishap.
Then, the second photo is what looks to be an RPM. Don't think the MM is doubled because of the angle of the lower 'D'. Any and all words on this one would be GREAT ! ! !
Oh, and for those who may be interested, My recent , and unbelievable finds in other fields are . . . .
. . . . either, one of the two most rare Meteorites, or (possibly even more rare) . . it is an unclassified one of a kind! In which, all are extremely valuable ! !
The second find is three 'New' Archeological cliff dwellings inhabited between 800 - 1200 years ago! Way cool construction on the second of the three dwellings.

Hey, no problem! But Remember, My 'dial - up' internet litteraly has NO speed to it, so give me thirty minuets or less. Oh, there's also a "very cool" platinum nugget from yesterday too! And thanks for the interest.

Joe: It is die deteriation. The pre 1990 may have RPMs. But not after that year. The mint mark was part of the design for the Denver mint dies. Not hand added. The area around the die is just die flow. The die is in very late die state. Just a coin from a very worn pair of dies.
