Since it has been a long time since mycrob & the forum came up with the original list of Key Dates, I thought maybe it is time to re-evaluate that list and see if it would be different since many more rolls have been searched since then.
I haven't been able to locate the page the original list was posted if someone could help with that.

No I haven't JB......but.... One coin every few months, is what I was figuring........ and then several years from now, I "hope" to have it near completion. We'll see "how much" and "how often" I'm willing to spend on them to make the effort ! I have MANY incomplete folders and albums... ...this may go to the wayside like the rest....who knows ? But it's on my "radar" and important to me "right now"...that may change in the future....

jbuck, the link you provided is not the one I had in mind. Although I can't remember which page in the Half Dollar thread this came from, I had previously copied the info into a Word document and have pasted it below: Kennedy half dollarsThe toughest coins to find, based on the compiled analysis of the coin by coin details given by many CCF members and combined by MYCROB: 1964-1970 78 78D 79D 81D 82P 82D 85P 86P & 86D 87P & 87D 88P 89P 90D 91D 93P 99P 99D 00P 01D 2002-PRESENT are NIFC--Not Intended for Circulation This mostly correlates with mintage figures, except maybe 00P. If you get any 64, look for double die lettering on the reverse. Also there is a no F 82 (P I think) on the reverse where the FG initials are found. This is relatively uncommon. DOES ANYONE THINK THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE REVISED?

I do not really collect Kennedy half dollars, but somehow have ended up with a lot of them. Are you talking just from roll hunting? Or do you mean any keys? I have always thought the 70 D was the key. It is NIFC only in the mint set. I do think some of the more recent silver proof half's are of higher value. But now, I would consider the 1998 matte finish that came in the RKF commemorative set as the key. If I was going to collect a complete set of Kennedy's that to me would be the crown jewel of the set, I may buy one just to have it.

Excellent! I will let you in on a secret... Use the "Printer Friendly" link to load the thread. It will show all posts on one page, allowing you to use your browser's search function to find the post. Then, just look at the date and find the post in the normal view.

Thanks for the search tip jbuck. Now back to the original question: DOES ANYONE THINK THAT THIS Key Date list NEEDS TO BE REVISED?

Anything with mintages of less than 20 million are hard to find in good condition in circulation. Mintages of less than 15 million are RARE. Feel free to disagree with me but I have spent years searching halves and these facts cannot be disputed based on my results. Sincerely, John Leckrone
