Need some conformation that I'm not crazy! My other hobby is metal detecting. On a detecting forum I've been communicating with a guy who found a 1928
Peace dollar the other day. Since a plain 1928 is a key date I was very curious about it. Turns out he's insisting he has a 1928-D. I asked if it might be a 1923-D or a 1928-S, but he says he's been collecting coins for 10 years and is positive that it is a 1928-D. He says he's going to send me pictures soon, but I figured I'd ask now.
I can find no mention of Denver making
Peace dollars in 1928. I did find one
ebay auction trying to sell one, but the picture is so bad I can't make anything out in the mint mark location.

Is there any chance he has a 1928-D? I'm highly skeptical, but I figure if anyone would know it would be you guys! Just to clarify, the
ebay auction above is in no way connected to the person I'm talking about.
By the way, I'll let you know when I get pics.
