I will try and get some good pics. I hope these pics are good enough to help with identifying what they are. In the first picture...the object above the are in the circle was debris. Please ignore above the R. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. I can try for a few other pics if needed...I will look for a different light source.

A couple of questions! What year is the cent? What color are the blobs? From what I see, if this is a zinc core cent and the blobs are silver or black,I would say the copper layer is split and the zinc is erupting through the splits. If it is pre 82,then what I have said would not apply.

Hard to tell from those pics. Strange placement whatever it is, are they solid? Like die chips? Or do they look like bubbles? What year is it?

Wait - let me guess ..... '83.

Plating splits during the striking process usually shows on two areas on Cents from the 80's. On the lower right on the mint mark (From the mint mark punchings till it flattens after many coins are struck) or on the outside edge of the devices from the pressure from striking.

If they're raised, then it's zinc rot. If not, then the plating split during the strike.

The cent is a 1983. The blobs are the same color as the coin. Looking at it this morning (with fresh eyes) I believe them to be just as everyone says...zinc rot. The blobs are raised and it looks like there is a very tiny bit of green in the center of each blob as if the tops have split from the corrosion underneath.

With tired eyes...I thought I was seeing double. :)

Thank you all for your opinions...excellent as always.
