I just inherited a handful of $10 and $20 notes. I'd like to sell them, but I don't know where to begin. Are they worth more as a collection or individually? Serial numbers range from E000048A to A003639. Most bills are from The First National Bank Of Seaford, Delaware - but a few are from other banks.
Could anyone steer me in the right direction? Can anyone tell me what these are worth? Please Help!
Thanks, Martin

Could you post scans of the notes. The 1929 series from Seaford, Delaware is a smal size national currency note. I would have to see it to see if it is type 1 or type 2. But for value each type for Seaford Delaware charter # 795 is valued at $400 each in the Kelly book (the standard pricing guide for nationals). Each different location for nationals has a different value so I would have to know the locations of the rest to help you out. But selling them individually would be better. Post some scans and we can help you more.

Would the tens and twenties both be valued at $400? This is a list of what I've got:
Seaford, DE - $10 bills (8)
$20 bills (10)

Lansdale, PA - $10 (1)
Laurel, DE - $10 (1)
$20 (1)
Baltimore, MD - $20 (1)
Kennett Square, PA -$20 (1)
What should I scan?
Thanks Much! Martin

P.S. Do the serial #s affect the value?

The $10 & 20 are valued the same for the Seaford notes. The serial numbers really only make a difference if you have a #00001. After that I have sometimes seen low serials up to 00010 bring a slight premium but not always. Are the other notes you listed small size 1929 notes? If so Laurel DE $10 & $20 both are $500 each, Lansdale PA $10 is $100, Kennett Square PA $20 is $200 and for the Baltimore MD $20 I need to know which bank.

I scanned them, but I don't know how to post them here. I'm currently uploading them to photobucket. It will take another ten or fifteen minutes to finish uploading and then I'll post a link here to the pics.
How should I go about selling them? Obviously I just started learning about these today.

You might be able to get a premium if you list the notes that have sequential serial numbers, or really close numbers, together. For the most part they are in good shape that helps. I wish I had them... If you do decide to sell them don't put all the Seaford ones up at the same time in the same place cause you have so many it will drive the price per note down.

How/where can I sell them? How much could I expect to get if I sold them all together? How long would it take to sell them individually?
All help is greatly appreciated.
Martin
P.S. What's the value of the Baltimore note?

E bay would be my first stop. Just research prices on the completed auctions for an idea of what to expect. As to how long you if you did it all on ebay at once a couple weeks to a month. If you took some time to stretch the Seaford ones out two to three months or so. There are quicker ways like selling them in bulk, just don't expect as much for them.

Could anyone tell me the value of my $20 bill from The First National Bank Of Baltimore? Is there any way for me to access the Kelly book without buying it?

The First National Bank Of Baltimore note is listed at $75. I wouldn't sell the group at $5200. That's too low. The Seaford notes are worth more than that themselves.

Thank you pyrbob. What do you consider a fair price for the group?

Is there a better way for me to shop this around? I've just been taking them to local dealers. I'm expecting a couple calls on Monday with pricing, but I don't expect to get a better offer than $5200 I was offered today. I suppose I could continue to visit local dealers - I live in Boston and there are quite a few I haven't visited yet. What do you think?
