There are a lot of cleaned ones out there too.....to make the best bang for the buck, so to speak, even when relating to the Steel Cent of minor value. Shinier ones, to those who don't realize that it's likely just been cleaned/polished, bring a little more value to folks
who think it is just in good uncirculated condition.
But either way, IMHO, you don't want to pay very much for the average Steel Cent. (even in nice condition)
I would value a common date
Wheat cent or a Copper Pre-1982 Cent higher than shiny Steel Cent !
But having said all of that.....I "DO" like them, and think they belong in EVERYONE'S collection (obviously in a Lincoln album) ---but even separate from that....I have a coin tube of them.....I think they are obviously historical and "different" so.....it's all good......just don't pay too much for one in the future if you intend to buy more of them.....again just in my humble opinion !
