The Mint Sets should be just fine since those coins are the old bronze composition, not plated zinc. Odds are that coin spent a little bit of time on a freshly salted sidewalk this winter to end up corroded that quickly. Which Lincoln reverse is it?

Log cabin, that was the first design to come out and it was issued in February. The reverse is just as ugly as the obverse

I like to Metal detect on weekends and here is a link to show you what is happening to the Zincolns in the environment, 5% of the Lincolns I find now look like these. I've seen alot of people trying to sell these kind of coins on ebay as Error coins and it irritates me to no end.
