I've seen these quite a few different places and I picked one up at an antique mall recently. Is this an actual product sold by the US Mint? Or was this put together by a third party?

If it has no collector value, I'll open them up and let my son fill in some holes in his folders. Or should I leave it as is?

Thanks!

Yes this is a U.S. Mint product. This is an Uncirculated set from 1976. Value is around $6-7. I wouldn't hesitate to bust it open for a Young Numismatist.

As with a lot of Sets.....there is more value with the "individual coin" put into an album, than leaving the Set intact.

+1...bust it open. For the most part mint sets are the cheapest way to get quality coins to fill albums with.

I agree with the consensus. Let your son fill some holes!
