I've been visiting with my wife's family for about ten days now and I miss my collection and I've still got 10-14 days to go! The problem is we are in the back of beyond. The nearest city of any size is 250kms away and as far as I've learned doesn't have anything like a coin/junk shop.
The one slight glimmer of satisfaction was purchasing some of those small plastic boxes (the ones that people keep calling cards in) to store my collection in. I'd already bought all the stock of about 500 on the island I live on and no shop has bothered to restock for about 2 years now. The boxes are then kept in a 15 drawer shallow-depth document filing cabinet, a system I'm quite proud of and nobody's going to walk away with it (well not without a forklift).
Now enough of this self pity. I just wanted to say thanks to all participants on this forum, if it wasn't for you guys (and gals) I would have been climbing the walls by now.
The point of this long and drawn-out missive is...does anyone else suffer this way when away from their loved ones (their collections I mean)?
Try going offshore for a month or two without internet... Its been a while since it happened to me but it still send a shiver down my spine thinking of all the stuff I missed.....
