These and several more like them came out of a box over the weekend. Recently I've found ALOT of 60's and 70's in excellent condition. Likely just more evidence that folks are turning in old stashes in hard times. The pics don't do some of them justice, the brightness is startling on the 62D and 63D's.

nice coins, af...I've been finding a lot of brilliant AU coins in my change...of note, most recently, a 1960 small date.

j h s,

A 1960 SD and not a 1960-D SD? Just checking to make sure you just did not add the "D". I have been roll searching for years and have never found one. I believe coppercoins would say the same thing. That is a GREAT find. Congrats.

Very nice. Almost like a time machine find.

I am still getting 1970's copper on a daily basis. Nothing that nice, but many are a nice brown in higher circulated grades.

Great Find j h s!

Same as Jim1953; been searching cent rolls for about 25 years; have never found a 1960 Small Date. Find about a half dozen 1960d Small Date per week, but no Phillies. Even found a 1970s Small Date once.

I recently bought four boxes of cents, and out of the four, I got 22 rolls of '70s, 6 rolls od '60's, and a lot of wheats. And yes, many qere BU/AU conditiomn.
I believe, as has been mentioned, it is due to the economy, and the folks are digging out the old stashes of change, they tossed into cans, jars, jugs, ets, rather than haul the small change around. I used to do the same thing, many years ago, while I was still "part of the work force". I remember checking same change, that had been collecting for a year, just to see what, or how much was there. Would you believe, there were $80.00 in quarters,, alone! I haven't worked since '81, so the change is all gone... No need to look for a place to save it, any more, not on a fixed income. One doesn't have that to concern themselves about...
BTW, it was a nice thing to have my own stash to go thru, when it still existed. now I do the same thing, except the coins go into folders....
